Not like UCLA is making it terribly difficult thus far (four turnovers in the first half?), but I've gotta say my Vols are looking pretty decent. We had a few sketchy moments in the first quarter, but I'm seeing improvement. The verdict is still out on our QB though. I'm just not convinced.

How was your football weekend? Any big games? I was so hoping that Appalachian State could pull off another big Michiganesque upset like last year, against LSU, but no such luck.

OK, and we're back to the Vols.

Hum, so I guess that's the game that's on in the living room. I lose at Football and Baseball. I'm very glad that they're the only two sports watched 'round here, or I'd be even more lost (or bored, as the case often is =P).

Well, if Dave ever needs a football buddy, let me know! I'm not a huge baseball fan (especially on TV), but I do love me some football.

dave had to watch the tigers saturday night, but turned it off a short time into the third quarter when alabama had 20 and clemson was at 3. :(

You are the first person I've known who is complimentary toward Chavis. Most people seem to really hate him.

I'm just not impressed with Crompton, although he has shot off a few good passes tonight. I'd be happy if he'd give Gerald Jones a chance at QB.

I can't believe Daniel Lincoln is sucking as mightily as he is. I don't think he missed two field goals all last YEAR, but he's missed two tonight alone? Geeeeeeez...

Yeah, I saw a bit of that. I was kinda hoping for an upset (mostly just because I hate AL), but no such luck. It wasn't much of a game.

I didn't watch any even though I could hear the Badger game from my friends porch.

We beat ourselves in the third quarter by giving up three unanswered turnovers. But unlike your Vols, our loss was to an unknown team, Louisiana Monroe.

OSU did well this weekend. Jesse was happy.

I saw a commercial for some team called The Ducks. I think from Oregon? I don't know. Anyway I have adopted them as my favorite because their uniforms totally rock.

Sure, sounds good.... if you like Miami or the gators, or the seminoles....OR if you root for however is playing against the "vols"... LOL

speaking of the vols.....wasn't that game over the weekend just fantastic!!!! Just kidding with ya.... :P

Uhhh...well, this could be interesting, seeing as I pretty much hate all the FL teams and would never cheer against the Vols. ;-)

I think we beat ourselves by thinking we already had it won, when UCLA came alive. At least they weren't unknowns, but still, they weren't ranked. :-/ Ah well...suckage for us both.

Yes, Oregon is the Ducks ("are" the Ducks? I'm not sure of the grammar on that one.) That is the same Duck (mascot) who beat the crap out of the Houston Cougar a couple of years ago. I think at first people thought he was just funnin', but he was apparently really pissed off (and got suspended because of it.)

They blanked their opponent, 34-0.

Oh, and Auburn played Louisiana Monroe, MS State lost to Louisiana Tech 22-14.

I think that UT thought they had it for sure, too. Unfortunately the game has four quarters! :-P They apparently decided to take a nap for the last one.

Georgia won so my football weekend was great. Granted it was against Georgia Southern so it was a gimme game, but hey, this was supposed to be the Vols' gimme game *shrug* 'Twill be an interesting season!

App was in the right place at the right time last year. Michigan lost their home opener again--I think I heard that was the first time that's happened since 1970 or something.
