Go Terri, it's ya birthday..

Wishing a great big happy birthday to my best friend in the world, [livejournal.com profile] headbanger118 .

I threw her a little party on Saturday. She got a gift from [livejournal.com profile] captainsblog and [livejournal.com profile] plantmom that was a very nice surprise!

Hilarity always ensues. Always.

Singing "Happy Birthday", whilst Terri cuts the cake.

I was actually there! That's [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific in the kittycathat.

There was pretty much enough food to feed an army.

And it was very organized.

General may be getting up in years, but he's still quite the ladies' man. With [livejournal.com profile] theldara...

...and [livejournal.com profile] melanie.

After dinner, we all dropped some acid, and our heads began to melt.

[livejournal.com profile] misterx is such a talented photographer, he can make plastic cups look good.

Trouble's crazy eyes, reflecting on the floor.

After-dinner naptime. [livejournal.com profile] misterx, [livejournal.com profile] melanie, Zach, without an LJ, [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific, [livejournal.com profile] albinohognose and [livejournal.com profile] theldara.

Giddyup!

I think my batteries were beginning to run down by this point.

Happy Birthday, Terri. Now you're older than me for the next five months and ten days!!

Thanks for your help with getting her our goodies:) There's also a little something for her on my page and her wall.

You are MOST welcome. I was happy to help. And your little surprise on your page is pretty awesome, I've gotta say. :-)

I want my hair to be the color of your hair. How do I make this happen?

It's just henna mixed with yogurt. :-) This is almost two years worth of saturation, but it got to this level after about...hmmmm...4 months, I guess? The first time it was much more orange. http://bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com/536449.html

I add cloves into the mix when I do [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific's henna, thus it is darker. Mine used to be, but I prefer it a bit lighter, so I just use yogurt for mine.

Is there an Indian grocery store around you anywhere? You can order it online http://www.blackcatredcat.com/ if not. Jamila is a good one, and the first kind I used. The brand I get at the Indian grocery store is called Karishma. Just make sure it's pure henna and doesn't have other stuff in it. If it's pure henna, you can put it right over chemically treated hair with no ill effects. I'd just dyed mine in December '07 and did henna the first time in Feb. '08, and it came out just fine.

So, yeah...that's it. :-) Good luck!

Oh, I also put amla on my hair (also available at the Indian grocery store or online) for shine and volume, although yogurt is a great natural conditioner as it is. You can buy premixed amla oil at the store, or mix it up in coconut oil. It's great for dry hair.

Awesome thanks so much! If Portland doesn't have an Indian grocery, I would be shocked. I like it orangey. I've been using manic panic because the hair dye industry hates red heads.
