He has discovered the cat tree.

Does he think he's hiding from me? Maybe. This morning, Oreo had her head underneath the bedskirt, but her whole back, butt and tail were sticking out. When I called her name, she jerked her head out and looked at me like "how'd you see me?!??! I was hiding!"

I may need to get a bigger tree. Oy! He's got quite a sizable butt. The rest of him is none too small, also.

And a pretty one outside, with the snow in the background.
In other, non-cat-related news, I have been doing great at the gym! Last night, I managed to stay for two classes, one yoga/pilates, and one core strength training. I never knew how many different versions of plank position you could do. I'm pretty sure last night, we did them all. Tonight I'm going to spin class, which I am SO looking forward to. I just needed that goal to work towards. I cannot be trusted to do anything, when left open-ended. I have to have a point of motivation to even function in this life, evidently, but that's OK. I've learned my strengths and weaknesses by this point.
And now, to lunch we go.

Good luck with the gym thing! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I have gained 70 pounds since 2000. I need to lose 50. That's a daunting number, for sure.

If Sam got to the point where he would accept outside child care, would you be able to go to a Y or local gym? It's SO HARD to get motivated to do it at home. I'm determined to do this Spartan Race in March, so I'm working double time, but I don't have a kidlet to be concerned about.
And look at it this way...if you've gained 70 pounds in 11-12 years, think how good you'll feel if it takes you less time to get it off!

I hate the gym, LOL. I feel like everyone is looking at me and I freak out. I went as a teen, but the anxiety got so bad that I quit. I have some new pilates DVDs to work on and I'm workin on making room in the office to use them :)
I was under weight at 154 in 2000. I didn't really have money for food, so I basically lived on ramen. Then I started dating David in 2001... and he likes to eat out. A lot. A really, really lot. And he can drop weight like mad, so 5-6 years later when he realized he was plump? He dropped it in 6 months. Me? Nope. Not so much. I figure if I can get 2 pounds a week off, that should be enough not to entirely terrorize my system (though it's gonna hurt no matter what) and shouldn't be so much to set off another gall bladder mess. I hope. I don't have time to get it taken out.

Lil General almost never seems to go further than 50 feet from the house now that he's been tutored. I leave the garage door open enough so that he and Porch Kitty can get in, and a lot of times when he's outside, he actually stays in there. I've made them beds, litterboxes and bowls in the back of the garage, so they've got a pretty comfy pad down there. It's obviously chillier than the inside of the house, but the water never froze, even when it got down to 14 degrees outside, so I hope it's cozy enough. I took down some old comforters, straw and other bedding, so they've made a nice little nest.
And I'm sorry you hate the gym. :-/ I really, really like going, but I need that sense of community. I thrive on that, I guess. Hopefully the Pilates DVDs will help. It's incredible what a workout that can give you. And with your neighborhood, it's fantastic just for walking! OK, maybe not right now, but soon! Speaking of eating out, next time I'm in the Tri-Cities, we'll have to try to get together for LC. It's been too long!

And I have a bunch of candles to give you. I know you burn them routinely and I don't... they're just taking up space and I need to get rid of them, as part of the "move shit so Sam can't destroy it" process. I'm staring at 6 right now that are "pumpkin spice" and there are size more vanilla hazelnut somewhere... and more tucked here and there. I never burn candles, but people are forever giving them to me.

Thank you!!

In the core strength class, that was where we did 97 different varieties of plank, but I can tell that I'm getting more tone and fit already, in just about a month! Last night I went to spin class and my legs were so wobbly when I first got off the bike, I looked like I was drunk. I'm sore this morning, but not nearly as bad as I feared I might be! Whew!

I'm glad you're enjoying the gym! I started the new year with a bang on Tuesday night, and my muscles are still telling me about it. Feels awesome!

And I am TOTALLY enjoying the gym. Spin class last night was rough. When I first got off the bike, I was wobbling, but today I'm tender/sore, but in a good way. It DOES feel awesome!! Hats off to you, too.
What was your class Tuesday night?

I'm enjoying being active, too. Sure beats depressed and unmotivated anyday.
