At long last..Rasputina. And more.

At one in the morning, here they are.  Good grief.  Some of these photos just did NOT want to cooperate.

A preview.  Unfortunately, Melora's microphone was planted firmly in front of her face for almost the entire show, and the crowd (and speakers) were so that I couldn't maneuver over to get any better ones.  But, I was within a couple of  feet of Zoe, so I have some primo pictures of her.  But first....all three:

Pre-game festivities:

Dexter and me in the backyard.  Directly behind me is the mud that I slipped in the night I was trying to figure out what my neighbors were up to.

Now, off to Asheville.  Every time I visit this town, I could totally see myself living there, and I realize how much I've always loved it.  *sigh*  One day.  One day, I'll move there.

These were taken at the Laughing Seed, where we had dinner.  Here's Elise after polishing off her shitake corn cake:

Cheryl and her fabulous square plate:

And we three (this just happened to be taken by the ultra-cute, super-friendly waiter that Cheryl wants to marry.  I only asked him to take the photo so we'd have an excuse to talk to him.  ;-P  I think the guy behind us is playing charades:

We had our pictures made with this fine lady:

And in case you missed it the first time, yes I did indeed wear fishnet thigh-hi's.

Outside the venue!  Sqeeeeee!!!!

The opening band was Tarantula AD .  I had heard of them before, but other than knowing that they also had a cellist, I didn't know much about them.  As I described them before, they are definitely "interesting." I've heard several comparisons, including the Mars Volta.  That's *possibly* a little accurate, as they do definitely use a lot of classical elements, but with a much harder sound.  But they are just sort of hard to pin down.  I did like much of their set, especially when they were really rocking.  The quieter stuff, not so much.  But anyway...here ya go  They were quite swarthy:

Thank you, tall guy in front of  me, for moving RIGHT in as I took this shot.  It's not like I'm SHORT or anything:

He totally shredded his bow on this one:

Finally, 11:40ish, Rasputina came on.  There was a band playing downstairs "in the basement", which was somewhat disruptive.  And Zoe kept getting TERRIBLE feedback.  But they were quite good-natured about it, and eventually it became a joke.  Even with all the setbacks, it was still an amazingly good show and the audience was so very, very appreciative and happy:

During one of Melora's "stories":

Jonathan actually sang on one of the new songs:

Post show:

Jonathan was quite friendly.

This is when Melora said in a very amused tone "wow, you're even shorter than me."   I don't even remember if I talked to Zoe, I was so beside myself at that point. I think the only thing I was thinking was, Melora's fake hair felt like Easter basket grass.

All righty.  Whew!  That's that.  And now I'm going to bed.  Hope you enjoyed the show!

Wheeee! Looks like you had LOTS of fun, and a good view!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
It was a fabulous time. And yes, I was so happy to be where I was. I only wish I could've moved a little to get some different angles, but we were packed in there like sardines and I didn't want to lose my place!

[identity profile] frenchardnaxela.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
WOOOOOWWW !!
Zoe is marvellously gorgeous !!
I love her hairs (even if I know tose are fake but !! cool !!)

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
They are both very beautiful. Zoe almost reminds me of a leaner, rock version of Julia Roberts. :-)

Her hair was awesome. The pictures didn't capture all the different colors and textures going on.

Thanks for stopping by! :-) I hope that you get to see them soon.

[identity profile] befuddled.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow you got some really pretty pictures; esp. of Zoe. I love the one that is in the middle of Melora's joke too.

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...I like that one a lot, too. Thanks for coming by to see! :-)

[identity profile] headbanger118.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Very cool! Wish I could've seen and heard it! Glad you had fun. BTW, didn't I see Johnathan walking around in Bluff City yesterday? Oh, no, sorry...that was someone else. *GRIN*

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I know...why couldn't the Royal Guard have met NEXT weekend. You'd have had a blast.

If a guy walked around the Bluff wearing pink little girls' ponytail holders in his hair, I think he'd have been lynched!

[identity profile] le-soleil-noir.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
haha their outfits look like they had a ruff night on the plantation :0)
i STILL can't get over how beutiful jonathan's necklace is!!! i made one just like it for myself haha.

thank you for sharing your pictures :0)
glad you had a wonderful night!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I LOVED their outfits!!

I kept staring at Jonathan's tattoo around his bellybutton when we were talking. He probably thought I was looking elsewhere! ;-P

Yes, it was an amazingly good night, all around. And thanks for coming over to see! Glad you enjoyed the pics.

[identity profile] slaybelle74.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
really good pics!!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I certainly enjoyed taking them. :-)

[identity profile] otterfreak.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you indeed earned the praise you we're looking for - you have the otter stamp of approval! I'm very impressed. My favorites are the one of Danny from Tarantula AD lying on his back playing the cello, the one where Zoe is looking up at the sky like it is falling, and the one where Zoe and Melora are facing eachother looking like a bunch of gossipy school girls. Kudos Kim!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow....I feel like I've won some sort of award or something!! The maestro of concert pics giving me praise... *blush*

I LOVE that one of Zoe looking up! I think that it is quite possibly my favorite one of the whole night!! I can't remember what was going on then...one of the lights was doing something freaky I think, and I just snapped really quickly, not even knowing if I got it.

Did you feel Melora's hair when you had your picture made with her? I wasn't kidding...the ponytail felt like Easter basket grass! :-P

[identity profile] otterfreak.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to post this in your personal journal, but then I noticed the comments I left at inourbloomers tansferred over here so now you get another comment. Dexter looks quite happy, you must be keeping him quite comfortable. The food looks yummy, what did you think? I need to get my picture taken with that flapper so I look small. Did you pick up any guys when you were showing your leg? HAWT. And relating to your previous bra comment, I think it actually fits in with the outfit nicely! ;)

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Dexter is improving. He's still rattly in his chest though, so he is having a chest x-ray today to see if he has pneumonia. If so, he'll go on a stronger antibiotic. But he's a little perkier, for sure. That day, though, he was getting so much attention from three girls, that he laid in the back yard for about half an hour and would NOT get up!!

The food was soooo good!! I actually meant to post a picture of my sandwich. I'll do that later. The restaurant was just really nice too. Great atmosphere and decor. The prices were reasonable. I'd highly recommend it.

I picked up no guys at all!! Of course, the street was empty right at that spot, too. I don't think you could actually see through the dress most of the time. Cheryl and Elise swore that they didn't. I think it was just the flash. But thank you.. ;-P

[identity profile] unamanda.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
looks fun. :) you're such a cutie!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a blast. And thank you! :-D

[identity profile] balalaika.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
First off, Dexter is a cutie, and I love your boots! Those are some amazingly good pictures....Zoe sure has some wild looking hair! You weren't kidding when you said you were close to her.
Thanks so much for sharing those!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
My baby was posing. :-) And those are my FAVORITE boots. They look big and clunky, but they're actually very comfy.

Thanks, on the pictures! I was so proud of then. Yes, her hair is crazy, but it really kinda suits her. :-) I could've reached out and touched her, had I so desired, but I was afraid she'd smack me! Haha!!

[identity profile] non-me-tenes.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm glad to see pictures with all three of them in the smae shot! usually jonathan is stuck in the back with poor lighting..

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I wish I could've gotten some more that were closer of he and Melora, but I just couldn't get over to them. I was terrified that if I moved, I'd lose my prime spot. :-) That's why I wanted to make a real effort to get a picture of him afterwards. The lighting was actually pretty good...I was impressed. And he seemed very "equivalent" in his placement, with the girls.

[identity profile] childof-the-80s.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Very cool pics! Bet it was a very cool show:-) Loved your boots:-)

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
It was wonderful. Thanks!

[identity profile] mermuse.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
That icon is great!!

And thank you! I've had that dress for 11 years...and the boots almost as long, but have had no occasion to wear them in a while.

[identity profile] amijp.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Pleased you had a great time. Thanks for letting us see the fantastics pics!

You are very welcome. :-)

[identity profile] childof-the-80s.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Just noticed the time of your post, you realized I was up three hours later? I can't believe I am actually getting up that early HAHAHAHAHA

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I was probably still up then, too. I don't remember the last time I got in bed before 3 am. :-\

[identity profile] ucsbclassics53.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like Dexter is doing much better!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
I thought he was, too. :-\ I'm so sad that he's in the hospital now. The house seems so weird without him here.

[identity profile] sweetasianxxx.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Great photos! Looks like you had a well-deserved good time! Dexter looks so cute in those pictures! It's amazing how little he is without all his fur!

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, whenever I first have him shaved, after he's been shaggy a while, he doesn't even look like the same dog! Plus, I think he has actually "shrunk" a little bit...just old age, most likely, like a person.

We had a blast. Thanks! :-)

[identity profile] sherlockoconnor.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a dream I was at this show last night and I wanted to go to the merchandise table but they didn't take credit cards and when I got back they'd left and I was really angry.

[identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You never got ahold of me about going with us! Did you have to work? You'd have had so much fun.
