Up with the chickens.
Aug. 13th, 2008 04:44 amI went to bed last night at 9:15. Yeah, I don't know either. I must have been pretty tired or something. I was actually asleep by about 9:30. That's just crazy.
So now here we are at 4:30 in the morning and I'm wide awake. But I had seven hours of decent sleep (except for a couple of shoes I had to throw at the door to get the cats to quit rattling it. Actually the cats rattling the door is what woke me up.)
I really don't want to get up at 4:30, but I know if I go back to sleep, I'll probably be groggy when I get back up. On the other hand, if I stayed up now, I could get like four extra hours of stuff done. Decisions, decisions.
How do you insanely early risers do it? My mom gets up at 5 every day. I've always found that to be completely crazy, but she does get a lot of things done, I must say..

Oh, in reference to my title, if any of you have ever lived on a farm, you know that the rooster starts crowing around this time of the morning usually. And the hens all get up and start doing...hen things. I really miss having chickens. Even though I don't live inside the city limits and *technically* could probably have some now, I don't think the other residents of this complex would much appreciate it (nor would the cats.) One of these days, I'd really like to have chickens again. They make surprisingly good pets, and having fresh eggs at your disposal every day is really nice.
OK, I swear I'm not still asleep.
