Kingsport has the Industry Heat Dome (Eastman, the paper mill, etc - all hot!). Sorta settles over the valley and prevents a lot of what the surrounding area will get. From about Rock Springs on one side and Lynn Garden on the other of I-26, you get normal weather. In between? Not so much.
