By popular request (OK, like 3 or 4 people have asked), here are some updated kitty pictures. New Kitty On the Block isn't so new anymore. I've now had him for over four months, and he's approximately seven months old. When I brought him home from the shelter, he was a paltry three pounds. He now tips the scale at almost nine pounds and is still growing like a weed. He's very lean and muscular and has the most gigantic feet and ears I've ever seen. If he grows into them, he's going to be the size of a tiger.

I was trying to get a good picture of him and General together, for comparison. General has actually lost a bit of weight, down from 17 pounds, to about 15. I've had them on a higher protein diet, and that seems to be helping the pudge. Still, he's a big boy, and Trouble is rapidly gaining on him.







His new favorite hobby is diddling his feet in the water container so that it gurgles.



He then enjoys jumping on mommy's lap with wet paws. It's pretty awesome, especially now that it's nice and cold.

He and General spend time together a lot. The girls don't really like him so much, because he's still so kittenish and rough.

Haha! I said about the same thing. Oreo's pose reminded me of Salvadore Dali's Persistence of Memory, with the melting clocks.

I hadn't realized how much, and how fast he'd grown, until I was looking at some "baby pictures" the other day, and it struck me! Have you heard from your babies that you rehomed, as to how they're doing? I'm sure they're getting huge now, too!

I haven't heard a word since they all went to their new homes (well, I hear about one kind of laterally) but I'm sure they are MASSIVE. LOL!

It's amazing how fast they get huge, isn't it? One day they're a baby, the next they are a CAT.

Yeah, I came in tonight and I swear he'd grown while I was out. It truly is amazing.

I hope that your foster babies are doing well. I'm sure they are. I'd loved to have been able to adopt one (then you could have heard alllll about them), but I'm sure they found stellar homes to snuggle into.

I'm thinking at LEAST 15 pounds, probably more. And he's just BIG...no fat. Of course, the fact that he runs through the house like a whirling dervish would kinda make it hard for any fat to develop.

Thank you! My mom got them that jungle gym for Christmas a few years ago, and they still LOVE it. Sometimes I'll find all four of them on it.

Did you know that General was that large? :-) Misty and Sabrina were both big girls, too, both in the 14 pound range. Oreo is my only little kitty, at just about 7 pounds. She's all fur and fluff!

Funny enough I thought Ruby was much bigger, but she's all fur and fluff as well. I wouldn't know that about Oreo though because she never comes out from under the bed! haha

Oreo is actually getting a little more sociable, and even MISTY has come out a time or two when I've had company! I don't see either of them being door greeters like General, Sabrina or Trouble, but at least they don't act like they're being beaten every time I have someone over now.

You totally have to meet Ruby! She has become such a sweet and friendly little girl! She kinda reminds me of a dog. She sits at my feet and if I pat my leg and tell her to come here, she hops up and stands on her hind legs and begs for me to pet her or give her treats. She's so spoiled. I have nooooo idea how she got that way. :)

I think Gen alternates between being glad to have someone to play and rough-house with (Sabrina was more like a boy cat than a girl, and she used to be his rough-and-tumble playmate), and just wishing he could lay and take a nap uninterrupted sometimes. Trouble is very...active, and I think sometimes he bugs General with his kittenness. But all in all, they get along, and I think they do love each other. In a bromantic kind of way.

I still call him Lil Pooh sometimes. That's my pet/nickname for him, I guess. He has literally tripled in size. It's unbelievable. I think he's eating the furniture while I'm out.

Ha...Trouble for General. That's awesome! Misty and Oreo are very sociable around me. I just wish they'd ever come out for anyone else.

He and General have a love-hate relationship. I think General mostly likes him and enjoys having someone to rough-house and play with. But then there are times when Gen just wants to be an old man and take a nap, and Trouble is all "NO, we must play ALL THE TIME!"

Trouble definitely has the distinct markings like bengals, tabbys strips are usually more blended. The only traits I know of is that Bengals love to jump (and jump high), they are high energy, and they love water.

I've actually been reading up on Bengals (and plan to do a post about my research), and I think you just may be right. There are several traits that set them apart from other cats, from the texture of the fur to their strange meow. It was so funny and ironic, right as I was reading this comment from you about them "jumping high", he jumped from the floor to the top of my gigantic desk chair and perched up there for about 15 minutes. High energy does not even begin to describe him. My God, he wears me (and all the other cats) totally out. He's like the Tasmanian Devil or something. And he does indeed like water (see the picture of him playing in the water dish.) He will sometimes stand with both his front feet IN the water dish as he drinks. One time he fell in the bathtub (while it was full of water), and while a little embarrassed, he didn't seem particularly broken up about being drenched to the bone.

You would've loved Dazzle then. Trouble reminds me so much of him. Dazzle grew up to be a crotchety old man, but he was still such a cuddlebug, which Trouble totally is, too.

You could be a cat person if you got to know my brood. They're impossible not to love. ;-)

I've known very few tabby cats who were not friendly and affectionate. It just seems to be a common personality trait. All the ones I've ever had have been total lapcats.
