I've fallen..and I can't get up!
Aug. 3rd, 2008 04:52 pmI swear, if I haven't thrown my back out again. At least this time I know how/what I did. Last year, I hurt it right before we went to the beach in September, and have no idea how that came about or why. This morning, I actually made it up in time to get to church, but while I was drying my hair, I flipped my head over to fluff and *voila*..my back began to spasm and hurt. By about 12:30, it was excruciating. I was supposed to have lunch with
headbanger118, but our plans initially fell through, and then by the time we were supposed to have met, I couldn't take a deep breath without screaming in pain.
This is getting ridiculous. Last week it was my knee. Today it's my back. I only wonder what the near future will bring? Oh golly, I can only hope it's my ankle or something! Wouldn't that be swell?
So, instead of having lunch with a friend, I boogied over to Erwin (as fast as one with a bad back CAN boogie) and raided my dad's medicine chest. God bless my father and his wide array of pharmaceuticals. I haven't taken any of those yet (right now I'm just on Aleve and heat), but you better believe tonight, I'm gonna be comfortably numb. Or at least somewhat comatose.
I did pick up a box of those Thermacare heat patches. I am firmly convinced that those things are made of nothing less than elfin magic. But even they don't seem to be doing anything much at the moment.
OK, I'm going to hobble back upstairs and try that reclining position again. I'd managed to doze off for a bit, before Sabrina decided that the lamp would look better in the floor than on the nightstand and jolted me awake. That hurt. I'm tempted to go ahead and take something stronger than an over-the-counter painkiller, but I don't know that it would be wise to go to sleep that deeply before 5pm. But it's not like I sleep normally anyway, so I don't know why I'm concerned.

This is seriously aggravating.
