Has everyone just taken like an LJ sabbatical or something? Almost no one seems to be posting anymore and even fewer comments.

I'm "in class" right now. At the library. I'm taking three classes at ETSU this semester, one of which is Educational Psychology, and that's an online class. I think they may have finally gotten all the bugs worked out and we're taking a break right now. So I thought I'd write a bit. It's funny, the "class" is a combination Youtube video and chat room. One girl just posted "I need to take my dog out. BRB." I never thought I'd see such a thing in a college class.

One of the classes I'm taking is a literature class that I had before (when I was but a young lass of 20) and made a D in. Now I'm not making excuses (or maybe I am), but I would like to explain how this really was not my fault. I had a completely unreasonable professor who would assign hundreds (literally, hundreds) of pages to be read each night, and then give us a quiz on the most obscure facts. The guy I've got now appears to be a lot more rational and I've thus far been able to manage everything well. I even sported my dorkitude by piping up to contribute to almost everything he asked, much to the chagrin of my younger (and less enthusiastic) compadres.

Now I'm back to Ed Psych. (I first typed "Ed Psycho" which would probably be a good name for a movie villain.) We're "discussing" Piaget's stages of development. I could do this stuff in my sleep, so hopefully this will bode well for a good grade.

Speaking of my sleep, I must share this insane dream I had about Barrack Obama the other night. I dreamt that we were in bed (ummm, yeah?) and were apparently enjoying the afterglow. I was laying there with my head on his chest and I said something about seeing him again. He replied "now baby, you know I can't leave Michelle and the girls. I don't know when I can see you again, and you're just gonna have to wean yourself off me." WEAN MYSELF OFF HIM? Afterwards, we got up and started playing pool and foosball with his buddies, because we were apparently shacking up in some sort of governmental fraternity house. I used to have sexy dreams about Bill Clinton all the time, but the only dreams I ever had about Dubya were ones in which he was completely inept. Oh, no...that was real life!! Hah!

Anyway, I'm back to Mr. Ed Psycho now. We're moving on to Vygotsky's theory of cognitive development. W00t.

I'm actually coming back to LJ a bit more in the last week.

Hilarious dream, that! Clinton actually fondled my girlfriend between the legs and tried to get her to "come to lunch" with him but secret security were like "COUGH Sir, we have a tight schedule." Hilariouser. Oh, that scamp.

I dreamed once that Wild Bill had come to a show I had for my students when I was teaching art. He kept moving my hand over to his thigh and when I woke up I remember thinking "the president is wearing polyester pants? I'd think he'd have something nicer.."

Yes! That was so much fun!! Kara is gonna get to witness my Volcraziness for the second time this weekend.

I don't even remember the last time I logged onto MySpace and Facebook is only good for quickies. I just haven't been writing much here, nor has much of anyone else apparently. :-/ Ah well.

Mr. Ed Psycho

The twist is that Wilbur's been dressing up as the horse all along to commit the murders.

Yeah, I agree about LJ death... I think that a lot of people are taken by other things, Facebook and Twitter.. bah!

Of course, I haven't been writing much, either, but not because of facebook or twitter.

Also; Your dream = awesome.

I just do. not. understand. Twitter. No clue what it's about, nor do I really want to understand it. Yeah, I'm on Facebook maybe somewhat slightly more than LJ, but I've just not been online period much anymore.

Ha..thanks. That was one of the funniest dreams I've had in a while! I need a goot Obama icon..

I still read LJ a lot but just don't post that often anymore. I'm normally on Facebook but I come here when I have something to post that does concern most of the friends I have on Facebook (especially since my wife doesn't read stuff here but does on FB)

Max...

If you want to add each other on Facebook, let me know. I've got your last name around here somewhere, on one of my 'send me your address' posts.

I've been a bit um, preoccupied. If you make it down Sunday we can fill you in on it all while we are enjoying the fair. :-)

However, I will be making posts a bit more often. I need to start providing "pithy commentary and insight" on architectural topics to increase my online presence as a means of getting more work... (that's a mouthful, but it is my goal ;-)

I hate that I couldn't make it to the fair, but there was just too much else going on. My dad and I actually wound up going to a Celtic music festival on Sunday, so I did at least get to hear some music.

I hope to be in town again soon, and will definitely be in next month for a wedding. Next month which will be here in just a couple of weeks...gaaahhh!!!

Music = good!

Even if it IS next month, just make sure and save some time to visit with us next time you are down. :-)

Wouldn't that be more of a nightmare?

OK, that's weird. My last two comments were sunflower icons..

I did have a nightmare about him once. It was new year's day, either 2006 or 2007. What a way to begin the new year!

I hated Ed Psych: my class was filled with people who continually horrified me that one day they would very likely become teachers.

I haven't actually met any of the people in my class in person yet, but judging from their typing *shudder* I can't imagine some of them are the sharpest Crayons in the box.

I use LJ for the longer thoughts...I like Facebook, lots of college and High School friends and Church people on that.

I am trying to hook up my laptop on wireless. I have it on next to me now, two Computers, LOL. But, I am having troubles with the wireless adaptor thingy...

I hope it works this time.

The dream about Obama and Clinton...chuckles...

At least you didn't dream about John McCain...or Hilliary...

From: [identity profile] bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com
Yeah, Facebook is fine for quick thoughts but LJ is where I'll always blog about longer topics.

No...no dreams about McCain, although I think I did once have a dream about Hillary. It was a long time ago.

How's the wireless going?

I've had the most random dreams about celebrities. I dreamed that I had sex with Alex Trebek one time, and I was in a movie with Burt Reynolds in another. We had a love scene and when we kissed, his moustache fell off. Then I dreamed I was dating Elvis and they had a pony ride at his show (in Cincinnatti, no less, WTF?) I was protesting the fact that they were being mean to the ponies and Elvis was telling me I had to stop because I was going to scare away the people coming to his concert. But I stuck to my moral high ground.

What celebrities have you dreamed about?

I haven't been writing much due to various things mostly including a girlfriend who doesn't want much of anything written about her on the net. At this point, all I would be writing is political rants anyway. :-(

Ooh, girlfriend who doesn't want anything written about her, eh?

I've kinda checked out of politics. I pretty much expended all my energy on the Bush era.

I'm trying not to be on sabbatical.

Do tell more about your psycho class! :) Developmental Psych was one of my favorite classes.

You're one of the few who still posts pretty regularly!

I've not gotten much out of it yet, sadly. They've had all sorts of technical difficulties and the professor often looks as though he is melting on-screen. My favorite psych class was Abnormal Psych. I was fascinated, learning about all the different illnesses and disorders and I even got to do a thesis on sleep disorders, citing myself!

Wow! Things are changing for you these days! I remember reading a post from you in August, when you sounded truly stressed and were thinking of trying some counseling to see if it would help. I am so glad you've gone back to school, and I hope the new house works out too.

What prompted me to look for your journal is that I was in Home Depot yesterday and I had one of those experiences you've spoken about, where another customer mistakes you for an employee. I was standing at the paint counter when a woman walked up, dropped a bunch of paint chip cards down, showed me her fabric from the curtain on the door, described what she had going on in the adjacent areas, then asked if her choice was okay. I was dressed in grubby paint-stained jeans and a very ratty tee-shirt. No makeup, nothing to indicate I had any design sense at all. Weird.

I loved your dream.

And yes, that sounds EXACTLY like something that would happen to me! What/who do these people think we are?
