Date: 2008-12-15 12:19 am (UTC)My Dexter dog passed away October, 2005 (his memorial is here:http://bluesilverkdg.livejournal.com/204750.html .) He'd been sick for months before that, and the last few weeks of his life were stressful, to say the least. I felt like I was just watching him waste away in front of me, and the day he died, I truly felt like I was having a nervous breakdown. With Sabrina, it was literally begun and over with in less than 24 hours. I don't think either way has any advantages.
Have you gotten another kitty, or does Tibby seem to enjoy being an only child? I just really felt that I needed to adopt another one, and somewhat quickly, both for my sanity, and for General. I honestly believe he'd have mourned himself to death if I hadn't. And obviously, he and Trouble have become really good buds.
